Engineering inevitability on a televised stage.
Every category-defining award show must feel like it has always existed. LBA's events practice designs the identity, the physical award, and the orchestral score as a single integrated artefact — so that when the curtain lifts, the audience cannot imagine the ceremony any other way.
A new comedy ceremony — not another awards show.
The Global Comedy Awards arrived without a ceremony language of its own. The category had grown larger than its presentation — broadcasters were treating comedy with the visual seriousness of a standup roast tape, not a televised cultural milestone.
We were briefed to architect the entire surface area of the event in a single sweep: the identity that would print at billboard scale and etch onto a trophy, the physical award itself as a collectible product, and the bespoke orchestral score that would carry the room from category transitions to the trophy reveal.
One studio. One signature. One intent: make the ceremony feel inevitable on a global televised stage.
The mark engineered for trophy-first design.
We began with the etch test. The mark had to read on a polished bronze plinth before it had to read on a screen. Comedy's two traditional signifiers — the broadcast microphone and the comic-tragic mask — were redrawn to feel cast rather than illustrated, framed inside a film-strip halo borrowed from cinema's classical ceremony lineage.

The award as a collectible artefact.
The trophy was rendered photoreal before fabrication so the broadcaster could approve the precise moment of light catching bronze on camera. Cast bronze, polished mask, microphone with a machined wire mesh, anchored to a polished obsidian plinth that absorbs studio lighting and refuses to flare on television.
Every dimension was solved against the camera path: weight in the base for shake-free hand-overs, the film-strip halo positioned exactly where the broadcast lens would catch it during the kiss of approval.
- → Cast bronze body, hand-finished
- → Obsidian plinth, broadcast-safe
- → Photoreal pre-fabrication render
- → Edition-numbered base etch
The theme that carries the room.
We composed the bespoke orchestral signature at the same time as the trophy, not after it. The piece was scored in three interlocking movements — entry march, category transition stab, and trophy reveal swell — so the broadcast director can fade between any two ceremony beats without breaking the audio language.

How LBA architects an event tier.
Event-tier projects are not solved by a graphics team. We operate as a single studio across three disciplines simultaneously, so nothing has to be retro-fitted later.
Identity that survives etching
Every mark is stress-tested at trophy scale before it reaches a Figma file. If it cannot be cast, it cannot be the brand.
Photoreal pre-fabrication
Physical awards are rendered photoreal under broadcast lighting so producers can sign off the camera-moment before tooling begins.
Score as ceremony architecture
The orchestral theme is structured as interlocking broadcast cues, not background music — written to carry hand-overs, transitions, and reveals.
